Deadwords Collective (DWC) is a collaborative blog specialising in creative works of fiction, opinion pieces, analytical essays, poetry, prose, and more.
Started over a year ago and based in sunny Queensland (Australia), our goal at DWC is to showcase as much local literary talent as possible. In addition to the above, we accept submission from any/all aspiring writers, regardless of experience.
What’s in a name?
Now, we know you’re thinking it … Deadwords. Seems a bit gloomy, doesn’t it? Not to worry, we’re far from it. When you think about it, though, all of the words we use (whether in speech or on paper) are recycled; they’ve been used before, in many ways, to portray many different meanings. Words, are dead things — dead things used over and over to in turn create something new, something alive. It’s a funny old thing.
Send us stuff!
We love it when new submissions pop up in our inbox. Sometimes, it’s the most exciting thing to happen to us all day. If you’ve got some short stories lying around, compelling narratives, pretty poems, or mind-blowing essays, feel free to send them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All original pieces will be considered, and are subject to the approval of our editor.
We’d love to read what you’ve got!
